Travelling from Budapest to Szeged

Adventurous with a little sightseeing

If you come earlier and decide to discover Budapest, take the bus 100E that goes to the city center (Deák Ferenc tér). After finishing your sightseeing tour, get back to Deák Ferenc tér and take the metro M3 (blue) in the direction of Újpest Központ and get off at Nyugati Pályaudvar (2nd stop). Every time you use public transport please don’t forget to validate your ticket!

From different railway stations

Keleti Pályaudvar

If you happen to arrive by train, then you will probably arrive to Keleti Pályaudvar. From there you can either get a taxi to Nyugati Pályaudvar or you can choose the more adventurous way: going by metro. In the latter you should take the metro M2 (red) in the direction of Déli Pályaudvar and get off at the 3rd stop, at Deák Ferenc tér where you should transfer to metro M3 (blue) in the direction of Újpest Központ. You can do it with only one ticket! By the metro M3 get off at the 2nd stop, Nyugati Pályaudvar.

Déli Pályaudvar (from Slovenia)

However most international trains arrive to Keleti Pályaudvar there is one exception. For those of you who come from Slovenia the train will probably arrive to Déli Pályaudvar. From there take the metro M2 (red) in the direction of Örs vezér tere and at the 4th stop, Deák Ferenc tér transfer to metro M3 (blue) in the direction of Újpest Központ. The second stop will be Nyugati Pályaudvar where you should get to the train to Szeged.

From Ukraine the train arrives to Nyugati Pályaudvar so actually there is no need to travel in the city, you should just transfer to Szeged.
