Program Overview

The COMPASS Program (Comparative Politics, Law, Administration, and Social Science Studies) offers an exciting opportunity for students to broaden their academic and cultural horizons. Designed for undergraduate and graduate students specializing in Law, International Relations, Political and Social Sciences, the program provides a dynamic curriculum tailored to equip participants with a deeper understanding of the chosen themes.

Students enrolled in the Program have the flexibility to choose from a wide range of specialized courses grouped into thematic pools, allowing them to customize their academic journey according to their interests and career goals. Through a combination of coursework, cultural immersion, and international networking opportunities, the program aims to foster critical thinking, professional development, and cross-cultural understanding.

COMPASS is a one-semester academic experience that culminates in the award of a certificate, formally recognizing the number of ECTS credits earned by the student. This document serves as proof of academic achievement and can be recognized toward further studies, subject to the regulations of the student’s home institution.

The University of Szeged qualifies as one of the best Hungarian universities, ranked between 401st and 500th globally and holding the first position nationally, and the Faculty is listed in the 301+ category for law in the 2025 Times Higher Education subject ranking. Located in Szeged, one of Hungary’s most vibrant and student-friendly cities, the program offers participants a supportive and stimulating environment for both academic and personal growth. Upon successful completion of the Program, students will also have the opportunity to apply for one of our full Master’s or LL.M. level programs.
